Elizabeth Winter

A social scientist, with a career combining research, policy, coordination, evaluation and advocacy. Involvement with Afghanistan since backpacking there in 1977, and regular visits since then.   Concentrating on supporting Afghan civil society development, bringing people together to build consensus, to collaborate and to ensure the inclusion of Afghans and their views into humanitarian and development policies and practice. Experienced in setting up and running NGOs, currently heading the British and Irish Agencies Afghanistan Group, BAAG, the International Consortium for Refugees in Iran, ICRI,  and the Afghanistan Society.
