Abdul Wahid Wafa
Abdul Wahid Wafa is the Director of the Afghanistan Center at Kabul University (ACKU), a non- profit organization that promotes and facilitates research and information sharing through the dissemination of knowledge and the enhancement of the capacity of Kabul University and other private institutions in Afghanistan. The ACKU collection holds over 100,000 documents that are available to students of all universities in Afghanistan, as well as to researchers, policy makers and development planners. Previously, from 2001-2010, Mr. Wafa worked as a local reporter for The New York Times based in Kabul, Afghanistan. While reporting for The New York Times, Mr. Wafa travelled to almost all provinces of Afghanistan and gained vast knowledge about Afghanistan’s people and its culture. Mr. Wafa holds a BA in Law and Political Science from Kabul University (2007) and was awarded the prestigious Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University where he studied leadership, democracy and communication at the Kennedy School of Government from 2010-2011.
