Building Peace and Connectivity through Research and Dialogue

Dialogue

Heart of Asia Society seeks to deepen understanding and promote confidence-building between Afghanistan and its neighbours, among countries at the regional level and between regional and international players.

To this end, we utilise our in-house capabilities and draw on those of our Afghan and international partners to:
• Provide advice, consultancy and support to governments, non-governmental organisations, civil society and multilateral organisations in the areas in which the Society specialises.

• Undertake ad hoc and regular ‘track 2’ and ‘track 1.5’ dialogues involving active or retired policy makers, academics and civil society actors.

• Organise conferences and events for various segments of civil society from all or some of the regional countries, with a particular focus on civil society activists, women’s groups, youth, athletes, and media organisations and other interest groups.

• Facilitate joint projects involving civil society actors from some or all countries of the region, with a particular focus on regional entrepreneurship.

• Facilitate the setting up of ‘Communities of Practice’ – professionals involved in same field – involving government and non-governmental organisations from countries across the region and

• Promote media interaction among countries of the region, with a particular focus on information sharing and highlighting the shared cultural heritage across the region.
